As we move into Spring in the new year, signs of new life are emerging, "spring cleaning" is happening, and the body is adjusting to warmer temperatures. We also made it through our series on the chakras during class each week. See attached for a quick reference to affirmations for each chakra shared by one of you as part of the community and a link to more information for your own self study.
For the last three months, I have been making my way through a 300 hour training to gain additional knowledge and skills for our classes together as a 500 hour RYT. I learned I have much yet to learn though I gained knowledge in social justice, ayurveda, trauma and the body, anatomy, as well as multiple other special topics. I'm grateful to have been able to take the course while still working and teaching to be able to share more about the practice with you all. Every class adds up to be able to continue teaching and to support charity.
Speaking of, thank you for the feedback from the last message and suggestions for charities. St. Jude's and the local Illinois Valley food pantry both received donations based on suggestions for a total amount of $400. That's a 7x increase in donation from last year even with covid affecting the year.
As we continue to grow, we can do more good in the world in addition to the wonderful actions each of you do daily to embody the practice of yoga. Thank you for being a part of this community and creating an inclusive and accepting space for all with an open heart.
See you on the mat soon
If you have a personal goal you are working on or would like a one on one class for a more specific study, please let me know and we can coordinate timing as well.
